The customer & their requirements

We were contacted by Together Housing in a bid to help reduce their energy consumption at their Head Offices in Wakefield.

Together Housing are one of the largest housing associations in the North of England, managing over 36,000 homes across Yorkshire and Lancashire.

The building itself is an older building with a newer building constructed in the same style that is attached. We were asked to install a solar PV system. We gathered their initial requirements and completed a site survey.

The install

As a result we installed 50kWp of JA solar PV panels to the roof spaces. The panels are mounted to a rail system on the old building and sit just above the tiles. On the new building the tiles were stripped away and mounted to the modern trapazoidal roof below and then the tiles were flashed around the outside to give an in roof modern stylish look.

The panels are connected to 4 Solis 3 phase PV inverters installed in the roof space below.

The solar install took 3 weeks to complete and the customer was very pleased with the end result. It reduced their grid energy and meant that they are almost self sufficient on renewable energy.
