Battery Storage

A battery storage system lets you capture electricity so you can use it at another time instead of sending it back to the grid.  If your solar panels are producing more electricity than you need, the excess energy goes towards charging the battery.

Later, when your solar panels aren’t producing electricity, you can draw down the energy you stored earlier in your battery for night use.  You’ll only send electricity back to the grid when your battery is fully charged, and you’ll only draw electricity from the grid when your battery is depleted.

Systems with the ability to store their own electricity have 3 vital components;

– Solar panels that collect the energy from the sun and convert it to DC electricity
– A battery or series of batteries that store the electricity produced
– An inverter that converts DC current to AC so that it be be used around the home

A battery storage system needs to store enough electricity to get the home or business through the period when the solar panels are practically dormant.  The average home use is in the region of 5,000 kW/h per year or 13 – 14 kW/h per day and much or this is either early in the morning or in the evening.  How much you use will define the number of batteries you have installed and the overall cost if you want to make sure you are covered in times of greatest need.

Using only quality products we are able to source and fit a battery storage system either to your existing solar system or one that we install.

Great for you
